MY STORY

I began playing guitar way back in Primary SchooI, playing various styles of music but focussing on Classical guitar which I studied at the Kent Music School.  When I finished school I had serious thoughts about attending music college. In the end I took a more authodox approach to a career, working in the electronics industry and later moving into computing and business analysis. I continued to play, with an interest in folk music, until family life and children took over.  When my wife decided to return to full time teaching, we agreed that the time was right for me to step aside from the world of computing and I set up my full time teaching business. Shortly after this we moved house where I was able to convert a detached garage to a dedicated teaching studio.

In 2020, I stopped teaching completely and said goodbye to many students who over the years had become good friends.

During the the years I have played guitar and tenor banjo in several ceilidh bands - Buttered Peas, Impromptu and Aire Crossing. Currently I play guitar and 5 string banjo with Sand Dollar, a 3 piece Americana band. Click the button to visit our YouTube channel

In 2022 I was very happy to be able to play Classical Guitar at my daughter's wedding - possibly the toughest and most rewarding gig I am ever likely to do!

I am now teaching again and pleased to be welcoming students once more.
